Our Story

Women holding West of Camden bag and crossing the street

What's in a Name...

West of Camden is a nod to London's famous Camden Market. It's a place that features over 1000 stalls of art, music, food and of course fashion. Camden Market has a vibe as if anything goes and everything is acceptable.  It embodies both the entrepreneurial and artistic spirit in a gritty street way.  West of Camden is our own personal take on that spirit, blending it with our west coast laid back beach attitude, and thus making our own "Street Meets Beach" style.

In the beginning there was a kiosk...

Holiday season 2012, a 50 square foot kiosk pop-up opened its roll top door with the name 'West of Camden' newly printed on the plexiglass marker.  From that day on we have offered our own original in-house designs along with select vendors that fell in line with our concept.  The pop-up era was the beginning of a much larger idea that manifested out of several conversations the summer before.  However, that idea did not truly start taking form until we spent a full year doing pop-ups throughout southern california at almost any art show, special event and vendor showcase that would allow us to setup.

As of today...

West of Camden currently has two real world locations (Huntington Beach & San Diego) and this online store. We have worked hard to bring you the brands we love, local artists/designers and our own in-house originals.  Every sale we make still brings a smile to our faces as it did that first day we opened our pop-up kiosk in 2012.

The Glue...

Co-Owner, founder and overall Boss ("don't call me babe") Bitch Lindsey Lamoureux hand picks all the collections you see throughout our stores. She focuses on real companies that care and create quality fashion pieces that fall in line with the artistic driven West of Camden "Street Meets Beach" concept. Lindsey has been in the fashion industry over 15 years, mostly behind the scenes as a fit model and a buyer, until ultimately deciding to open her own concept along with her husband Adrien.  The two merged their different styles with the idea to create unique real world spaces that make shopping in an actual storefront still interesting and enjoyable.

Beyond Lindsey and Adrien there is an unbelievable team that helps create every aspect of our stores from our in-house designs, displays, graphics, furniture and even this very website.  Without one of the hardest working teams none of this would be possible.

We hope you join us on our journey as we continue to grow.
Cheers.
