Nan Coffey at West of Camden
If you've visited any of our West of Camden stores, you may have noticed the some of the artwork that adorns our walls. Each piece has its own unique story, and we’re thrilled to share one of our favorites with you. If you're familiar with the art of Nan Coffey, you’ll understand just how lucky we are to feature an original, hand-painted mural from her in our Huntington Beach store, overlooking the kids' section.
Before the chaos of 2020, we had plans in motion to create a stunning mural for our San Diego storefront with Nan Coffey, a close friend of the store. But like many plans during that time, COVID threw everything off course. Timelines were delayed, and unforeseen challenges meant we had to rethink how we could bring this vision to life.
By 2021, we were more determined than ever. After a few adjustments, including a shift in location, we decided on an indoor, kids-focused mural for our Huntington Beach store. The design even features a West of Camden nostalgic touch—our first metal logo sign from our original Corona Del Mar store.
